EdKompas Voluneering Academy (EVA)

EVA is the first student platform of its kind, enabling students to bring their humanitarian project ideas to life with full EdKompas support.

At EdKompas, we believe education is more than choosing a school or a degree.
Education is the shaping of a human being — their empathy, responsibility, and ability to create positive change in the world.

This is why we created the EdKompas Volunteering Academy (EVA) — an initiative that connects young people with meaningful social and humanitarian projects across different parts of the world.

EVA is designed for high school, bachelor’s and master’s students, offering them a space to develop global awareness, social sensitivity, intercultural collaboration skills and the courage to take action. EVA provides ready-to-implement humanitarian project concepts, developed in partnership with local organizations, NGOs, and community leaders — and is equally happy to hear your own project ideas and help you bring them to life.

We support you in setting clear goals, coordinating the process, outlining the project plan, and creating defined student roles that directly contribute to each initiative. Students from any country can join; we intentionally bring together diverse nationalities to foster meaningful intercultural collaboration. Through collective action, participants learn not only how to acquire knowledge, but how to use it to support others and create a tangible impact in the world.

EVA's Mission

EVA aims to build bridges between schools, young people, and communities that need educational support.
We want every young person to have the opportunity to:

Impact

Take part in projects that create real change in communities around the world.

Global Citizenship

Build the skills to understand the world, respect differences, and collaborate across cultures.

Voice

Discover that your ideas, opinions, and actions matter — and that your voice can be heard.

Purpose

Co-create change together, starting with small steps that lead to something meaningful.

Why It Matters

Today’s world needs not only talented specialists, but responsible global citizens who understand their place and impact in an interconnected world.
Volunteering is more than helping others — it is a profound journey of personal growth, shaping one’s values, priorities, and sense of purpose. In the digital age, young people need real human connection, not just screens; they need experiences that help them develop empathy and self-awareness, learn teamwork and leadership, understand global inequalities, and become more confident and open-minded.
These experiences guide them toward educational and career choices made with deeper purpose and clarity, preparing them not only for their future studies, but for life.

Completed Humanitarian Missions

Orphanage Support – Cameroon

With the support of UNESCO, a visit was organized in July 2023 to a community orphanage to provide educational materials, mentoring, and moments of joy to children with very limited resources. Through storytelling, learning activities, and simple human connection, the initiative offered the children a sense of care, presence, and the love they deeply needed.

Mission Ukraine - Poland

In April 2022, in partnership with the Geneva School of Diplomacy, a group of 10 bachelor’s and master’s students raised CHF 5,000 and travelled to the Hrebenne border to support families fleeing the war.
Working alongside PAH – Polish Humanitarian Action, they spent three days offering supplies, care, and a moment of dignity to more than 10,000 people crossing into safety.
The experience deeply transformed the students, showing them how compassion and collective effort can bring hope in moments of crisis.

Women’s Literacy Program – Côte d’Ivoire

In collaboration with GATIC, a local NGO and laureate of the UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy, a program was launched in August 2022 in Côte d’Ivoire to support 100 women in developing essential reading, writing, and numeracy skills. Working closely with local educators and community leaders, the initiative created a safe and supportive learning environment where participants could learn freely, reconnect with their strengths, and regain confidence in their abilities.

Elementary Education Support – Côte d’Ivoire

With the support of UNESCO, in February 2022, we visited several elementary schools in Côte d’Ivoire to provide essential school materials, hygiene items, drinks, and gifts. The experience reminded us that meaningful impact is not only about resources, but also about presence, respect, and human connection — lessons we carry forward in all our educational and humanitarian work.
